SUMMARY:OCP Global Summit
DESCRIPTION:The OCP Summit\, which takes place on October 17-19 in San Jose\, California\, is the premier event uniting the most forward-thinking minds in open IT Ecosystem development. The Summit presents a unique platform for our Community from around the globe to share their insights\, foster partnerships and showcase cutting-edge advancements in open hardware and software. \nAt the 2023 Global Summit\, industry leaders\, researchers and pioneers from the open community will engage in dynamic dialogues\, enlightening workshops\, and interactive engineering sessions designed to expand our understanding of the progress that our Projects have made as well as the challenges and road ahead. Participants will explore emerging trends\, tackle complex challenges and discover new opportunities to drive global innovation. Through this collaborative spirit\, we aim to accelerate the development of efficient\, scalable\, and sustainable open compute solutions that power the future of technology. \nOn Tuesday\, October 17 at 12:05- 121:20 pm\, Marc Meunier\, Director of Ecosystem Development at Arm\, will give a presentation titled\, “Deploying DPUs at Scale.” \nData Processing Units (DPUs)   have emerged as a leading example of specialized processing; a new class of   hardware that is designed to offload specific compute-intensive tasks\, like   networking\, security and storage\, from CPUs. DPUs have demonstratively improved the performance and efficiency of data centers as they are deployed at scale by a growing number of cloud providers and enterprises.  However\, to unleash their full potential\, we need open and standard APIs that can work across different hardware and software platforms.   In this talk\, we will show how Arm is accelerating the DPU deployments at scale by working with various industry organizations and standard bodies such as OPI\, OCP\, etc. to collaborate and to create a layered and interoperable approach that benefits the entire ecosystem. \nAdditionally\,  Open Programmable Infrastructure Project will debut a new use case demo\, based on the OPI framework\, at the Arm booth and will have a presence at the LF Networking booth.
